Hi, I am Dr. Jo Davies .
I am interested in how we act when under stress.
My background is in critical care medicine, and I also practice and study aikido — a Japanese martial art.
I believe that we can make things easier for ourselves by (re-)learning to know what our body is doing as a reaction to situations we encounter — and not just rely on what we think. This gives us something tangible to work with, and the ability to choose if and how we want to respond.
This is a practice in harmony, and balance.
I also write about spaces and minimalism. I am fascinated by the effects our spaces, those we choose to inhabit and how we set them up, can have on us (read: our bodies).
